Course Description

The student will apply his/her knowledge of agri-hort technology by working a minimum of 160 hours at a cooperating business under the supervision of a training site supervisor and the program coordinator.

Prerequisites

14 credit hours of Agri-Hort Technology core courses with a grade of C or better - Must be completed prior to taking this course.

Course Information

Course Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify the major classes of companion animals
  2. Describe the living habits and behavior of companion animals
  3. Explain mammalian physiology, especially of dogs and cats
  4. Describe nutrition, diseases, and treatments pertaining to companion animals
  5. Identify careers in the companion animal industry
