A survey and analysis of the criminal justice system, including a historical and philosophical overview of its development, with special emphasis on the system's primary components and its relationship among these components in the administration of criminal justice in America. Course Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain (in general terms) the American criminal justice system.
  2. Discuss the types and the amount of crime in America.
  3. Discuss the criminal justice system and the rule of law.
  4. Discuss the development of police in the United States.
  5. Explain the role of police in the law enforcement operations.
  6. Discuss the impact of Constitutional Law on law enforcement activities.
