Course Description
This is an introductory course to develop skills in creating, revising, and printing spreadsheets, charts, and graphs. AAS: Business elective.
Prerequisites
COSC 1152 or COSC 1513 or consent of instructor - Must be completed prior to taking this course.

Course Information

Course Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the use of a spreadsheet application to manage data and make business decisions
  2. Create and professionally format worksheets, formulas and functions and use charts and graphs.
  3. Understand working with Excel Lists and multiple worksheets and workbooks
  4. Understand Excel’s Editing and Web Tools
  5. Learn to develop an Excel Application using basic VBA, macros and validation rules for data entry

Methods of Evaluation

Grading is based on a point system. Each assignment and test have a specified point value. The total points you accumulate at the end of the course will determine your final grade. There is a total of 400 points for this course.

A = 90% - 100% (360 - 400 points)
B = 80% - 89% (320 - 359 points)
D = 60% - 69% (240 - 279 points)
F = 0% - 59% (0 - 239 points)
