Course Overview
This is a course designed to provide students with skills that are essential to a wide variety of industrial and technical trade areas. Topics include on-the-job applications of using Micrometers, Calipers, Gauge Blocks, Tape Measure. Basic Blueprint reading, converting fractions, and making sketches for various parts supplied.

All tools, and materials are supplied.
Course work
All work is done in class, except a few videos to watch, which will have a short quiz the next night.

Course Information
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Solve on-the-job applications involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals and percents
- Calculate conversions within and between the English and metric systems of measurement
- Obtain accurate measurements using signed numbers
- Find areas and volumes of geometric figures
- Solve right triangle using trigonometric functions

Being prepared and participating
First night. Introduction to Blueprints, tolerancing, and basic fraction conversion and simplifying.
Second night. Introduction to the Tape measure, ruler and Caliper. Reading a simple blueprint.
Third night. Instructions on making simple sketches from a given part. In Depth instruction on reading the Tape measure, ruler and Caliper.
Fourth night. Instructions on making simple sketches from a given part Introduction to the Micrometer. In Depth instruction on the Micrometer.
Fifth night. Final sketches of supplied parts, review of all previous nights.
Sixth night. Final
