Course Description

The student will learn about and how to use basic tools, power tools and fasteners used in the electrical industries. Students will learn about tools commonly used in the electrical industry as well as how and when to select appropriate each one. Using tools safely and with the proper body mechanics will be a focus of the course.

Course Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Describe and use common basic hand tools in electrical situations
  2. Take common measurement using tape measure and apply measurements to common electrical situations
  3. Describe and use power tools in common electrical situations
  4. Learn to how to make basic common electrical connections
  5. Learn common methods for fastening electrical equipment permanent structures
  6. Use of all tools safety and effectively
