This course provides an introduction to programming using Python®, a versatile and widely-used programming language known for its simplicity and readability. Students will learn fundamental programming concepts such as variables, data types, control structures, functions, and object-oriented programming principles. Through hands-on coding exercises and projects, students will gain practical experience in developing software applications using Python®.
This is an online course presented through Pearson Revel with no in person lecture requirements.

Pearson Revel - Starting out with Python (6th Edition) by Tony Gaddis
A PC with Windows 10 or higher ((or other system that works)) and Internet access is required to successfully work with the course materials. If needed, KCC may be able to lend students Windows laptops for particular tasks for a duration. The corresponding grading scale will be:
90-100% = A
80-89% = B
70-79% = C
60-69% = D
59% or lower = F
Retakes and attempts: There are no limits on attempts in this course and no penalty for retaking. If you are not happy with a score, go back and work on it again. Your Revel work is reported to Canvas as a single Pearson Overall Score, which updates as you complete and improve your work, so raising a score in Revel raises your course grade.
